The Definitive List: Songs I Should Have Listened To This Morning

It’s another “glorious” Wednesday.  The only things keeping me from typing mojunnbyimbypfkgkpppnrirtbmobpppppppppppppppppp with my forehead are my coffee [which seems to finally be pulling its weight (and it’s mainly water weight at that)] and the community printer in my office that startles me awake every few minutes.

It didn’t have to be like this.  I could have started this morning off the right way.  And you know me… I do everything with music and the creation of a purposed playlist.

So, having said all of that, here are the songs that I should have used to guide me from the bed to the desk:

1) Kanye West - Good Morning

The title alone is reason enough.  It also happens to be really catchy.  Plus my honky-hipster cred would be revoked if KW wasn’t on a playlist that I posted on ye olde interweb.

2) The Arcade Fire - Wake Up

Pretty much see the above.  Feasibly, one could substitute this for the Kanye track, being that they were chosen for the exact same reasons…but I’m an American.  Why not have both?  With a diet coke, though.  I’m watching my figure.

3) Howard Jones - Things Can Only Get Better

It’s impossible to be in a bad mood after hearing this song.  The clouds part.  The sun shines brighter.  Jeebus himself pats you on the back.  I would post a link, but html and I aren’t getting along at present.

4) Joe Esposito - You’re The Best

Yep.  It’s that song from The Karate Kid.  I find it to be a great song to listen to while brushing my teeth and shaving.  It’s like a big bowl of Wheaties for the soul.  Bonus points for singing along with your mouth full of toothpaste foam.

5) Andrew W.K. - Party Hard

This one really doesn’t need any explanation.  Perhaps I need more white ensembles in my wardrobe.
